ذهب الفقهاء إلى مشروعية الدعاء بعد الوضوء^([1]):

حيث نص الشافعية والحنابلة على أنه يسن أن يقول المتوضئ عقب فراغه من الوضوء، وهو مستقبل القبلة، وقد رفع يديه وبصره إلى السماء: (أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، وأشهد أن محمداً عبده ورسوله)؛ لقول رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: "مَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ يَتَوَضَّأُ فَيَبْلُغُ أَوْ يُسْبِغُ الْوُضُوءَ ثُمَّ يَقُول: أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ إِلاَّ فُتِحَتْ لَهُ أَبْوَابُ الْجَنَّةِ الثَّمَانِيَةِ يَدْخُل مِنْ أَيِّهَا شَاءَ"^([2]).

ثم يقول المتوضئ: "اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِنَ التَّوَّابِينَ وَاجْعَلْنِي مِنَ الْمُتَطَهِّرِينَ"^([3])، سبحانك اللهم وبحمدك، أشهد أن لا إله إلا أنت، أستغفرك وأتوب إليك؛ لقول رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ ثُمَّ قَال: سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ، أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ، كُتِبَ فِي رَقٍّ، ثُمَّ طُبِعَ بِطَابَعٍ، فَلَمْ يُكْسَرْ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ"^([4])، أي: لم يتطرق إليه إبطال، أي: يصان صاحبه من تعاطي مبطل.

وقال الحنفية والمالكية والشافعية: يسن أن يقول بعد الوضوء: وصلى الله وسلم على محمد وآل محمد.

وزاد الحنفية والمالكية: ويقول المتوضئ بعد الصلاة على النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: اللهم اجعلني من التوابين، واجعلني من المتطهرين، واجعلني من عبادك الصالحين من الذين لا خوف عليهم ولا هم يحزنون.
