ما ينبغي فعله بعد الموت:
اتفق الفقهاء على أنه إذا مات الميت شُدَّ لحياه، وغُمِّضَت عيناه، فإن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم دخل على أبي سلمة، وَقَدْ شَقَّ بَصَرُهُ فَأَغْمَضَهُ، وقال: "إِذَا حَضَرْتُمْ مَوْتَاكُمْ فَأَغْمِضُوا الْبَصَرَ"([1] .
ويتولى أرفق أهله به إغماضه بأسهل ما يقدر عليه، ويُشَدُّ لحياه بعصابة عريضة يشدها في لحيه الأسفل ويربطها فوق رأسه([2] .
ويقول مغمضه: بسم الله، وعلى ملة رسول الله، اللهم يسر عليه أمره، وسهل عليه ما بعده، وأسعده بلقائك، واجعل ما خرج إليه خيراً مما خرج منه([3] .
ويلين مفاصله، ويرد ذراعيه إلى عضديه، ويرد أصابع كفيه، ثم يمدها، ويرد فخذيه إلى بطنه، وساقيه إلى فخذيه، ثم يمدها، وهو مما اتفق عليه([4] .
ويستحب أن ينزع عنه ثيابه التي مات فيها، ويسجى جميع بدنه بثوب، فعن عائشة رضي الله عنها أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم حِينَ تُوُفِّيَ سُجِّيَ بِبُرْدٍ حِبَرَةٍ([5] .
ويترك على شيء مرتفع من لوح أو سرير؛ لئلا تصيبه نداوة الأرض فيتغير ريحه، ويجعل على بطنه حديد، أو طين يابس، لئلا ينتفخ، وهذا متفق عليه في الجملة([6] .
