غسل الميت:
هو تعميم بدن الميت بالماء بطريقة مسنونة.
الحكم التكليفي:
ذهب جمهور الفقهاء إلى أن تغسيل الميت المسلم واجب كفاية، بحيث إذا قام به البعض سقط عن الباقين؛ لحصول المقصود بالبعض، كسائر الواجبات على سبيل الكفاية([1] ؛ لقوله صلى الله عليه وسلم: "لِلْمُسْلِمِ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِ سِتٌّ"، وعَدَّ منها: "أَنْ يُغَسِّلَهُ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهِ"([2] .
والأصل فيه: تَغْسِيل الْمَلاَئِكَةِ عَلَيْهِمْ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ لآِدَمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ. ثُمَّ قَالُوا: يَا بَنِي آدَمَ هَذِهِ سُنَّتُكُمْ([3] .
